In 1879, Mary Baker Eddy founded The Church of
Christ, Scientist. Today there are Churches of Christ, Scientist
and Christian Science Societies around the world. This society is
a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ,
Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. |

Sunday
School for children and teenagers up to the age of twenty is
held at 9:30 am (NEW TIME) and lasts one hour. Students
are taught the Lord's Prayer,
the Ten Commandments, and the Sermon on the
Mount. Children too young for Sunday School
are lovingly cared for in our Children's Room. Everyone is welcome
to bring children and teenagers to our Sunday School! |

History
and Edifice
A few students of Christian Science began holding
services in private homes in 1908. Church services continued for a
number of years in various locations around Nelson. Two lots on
Baker Street were puchased in 1927. The church building was
erected and ready for occupancy on Sunday, November 6, 1927. The pictured building in Nelson has been sold recently, and we've moved to a new location - St Michaels and All Angels Anglican Church in Balfour. Check back here for updates. |
